BLOGMAS DAY TWENTY-ONE: FEELING HAPPY!

Saturday, 21 December 2013
So this is a bit of a random post today but I didn't know what to write about so I decided to tell all you guys about certain aspects of my life that are starting to look up! For a while I've been very stressed due to school work and family and friend issues, but recently things have turned around a lot!

1: School

School has now finished as its the Christmas holiday's (eek) but I finally feel like I'm on top of everything. All the exams I've recently had, I feel like I've done well and any results I've got have been B+! I don't mean to blow my own trumpet but I am quite proud of myself and hope that over the next year and a half I can keep it up!

2: Friends

For some reason, probably because of all the stress at school, I seem to have fallen out with a lot of my friends, but luckily, we've all made up! All the petty little problems that seemed to matter so much to me a few weeks ago, don't matter at all now, and I can now say, I trust every single one of my friends and I really don't know what I'd do without them!

3: Family

In the past year, there have been A LOT of issues in my family, but they have all seemed to sort themselves out I the past few weeks and everyone seems to be a lot happier and in the festive spirit so yay! This makes me super happy as I love my family so much and wish them all the best.

4: KATRINA

I don't know if many of you know but one of my best friends (not Amy) moved up to Scotland a few years ago. Her name's Katrina and we've been best friends since we were 7. I went on holiday with her earlier this year and we had so much fun, but I was very sad when I had to leave her :( But now I am so happy as a couple of days ago, I found out that she coming down to Devon for New Years Eve and staying at mine, I'm so excited! She is honestly one of the best people in my life and I don't know what I'd do without her! I'm especially happy as I didn't think I'd be seeing her for a while, being that I we live about 600 miles apart!

So that's all the good things in my life right now and I can finally say and mean it when I do, I'm in such a good place in my life! This year has been quite difficult for me, but I can definitely say that I've come out of it stronger! And on top of all that, Christmas is in four days! YAY!

I hope you enjoyed this slightly different post, I'm going to end it with a quote I find very apt for this subject as, although I feel like everything's falling into place in my life, I know that will be more obstacles to overcome, but that's okay.

'Happiness is a mood, a feeling, a condition, not a destination. It's like being tired or hungry, its not permanent. It come and goes and that's okay, we all struggle sometimes.'

BLOGMAS DAY TEN: CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS!

Tuesday, 10 December 2013
HEY! So, for this post its is going to be about our families Christmas traditions! I know I did a post called 'the greatest time of the year' and that did indeed contain a lot of my families Christmas traditions but oh well! I'll do another one, and I can elaborate on it!

CHRISTMAS EVE:

Now, this only started when I moved in with my Dad, we would go to the Pantomime (Princess Theatre) with my Step-Mum's school, they would also give us a polythene bag filled with: Sweets, Chocolate and Drinks. I loved it! Last year My Granddad was back in the country (He lives in Hawaii) So I went to my Mum's for Christmas, this year, the tradition will be no more, as we aren't going to go anymore!

Also, on Christmas Eve we have a big buffet for tea, like HUGE! With all of the left overs (Wait, as I'm there, there's like no leftovers, whoops!), okay so, with the little leftovers there are, we save until CHRISTMAS DAY!

CHRISTMAS DAY:

On Christmas Day, we all play board games! Well, apart from my Step-Mum, she's off cooking me a mean turkey, mmm. We usually play Monopoly, which is like the longest board-game ever! I'm always accused of cheating, by stealing the money from the bank! even though I don't! PROMISE!

We also bring the WII up stairs, to play Mario Kart and I'm not going to lie, I'm pro! Okay, that might be a lie, but there was a point where I was pretty pro at it! Let's see how it goes this year eh?

All four of us girls, go into my parents' room and sit around the bed, which is far to small for six of us! So only like four of us can fit! We then open our stocking presents and mentally praise Santa (Do you guys believe in him? (I only do so I get presents!))

After we open our presents, us four girls drag our stockings out and go down stairs, with the tree lights on, we the switch on the music channels, and listen to those endless Christmas play lists, we then make our parents' tea and wait till like 9 before they get out of bed and we can open our presents, one by one!

So those are a few of my families Christmas traditions, I'm pretty sure there are more over on my 'Greatest time of all' post, so if you want to know more, go and check it out if you fancy? Don't forget to tell us your Christmas Traditions in the comments, or using the #loveandotherramblings on Twitter! YAY!

THE GREATEST TIME OF ALL! (Amy)

Wednesday, 13 November 2013
Sup, for this post I wanted to fan girl a little about Christmas, over the the lifespan of this wee blog, you may have noticed a few things about us. One of them being that we get far too excited for Christmas, far too early! There is even a countdown widget on the side of our site! A weird one, but ah well, actually, do any of you know any simple Christmas countdowns?

ANYWAY! Back on track, I have always thought that the build up to Christmas is so much more exciting then THE 25th of December! not that I am being ungrateful or anything, don't get me wrong, I love Christmas Day, I love waking up in the morning to my siblings shaking me, I love taking my stocking into my Dad's room and all sitting on the far-too-small-for-6-full-grown-people-king-size-bed, and taking it in turns to unwrap presents, I love sitting around the tree with the music channels on whilst waiting for my parents to get out of bed, I love taking it in turns to open our tree gifts, I love the Christmas fry-up we have, I love when my Auntie comes around and we have Christmas dinner, and we pull crackers together, and tell the corny cracker-jokes, I love the puddings we eat at the end, I love the light dinners we eat later on, with the leftovers and crackers, and yes, I just love everything about Christmas!

Even after all of this, the build-up still over-powers the day.

The cold-days and early-darkness. The Christmas lights twinkling as you search for that special gift. The smiley faces and the happy families. The little kisses stolen as couples walk through the streets. The excited children gasping and pointing at the displays of their favourite toys. The omnibus' of old shows, and the happy Christmas specials. The time when there are a select-30-or-so songs that get repeated over again as you enter shops. The time when families set aside their differences and are happy. The time when you have to apply silly amounts of lip-balm and hand-lotion, just for them to keep safe. The time when people wrap up in thick coats, scarfs, hats and gloves. The time for cracking open a new Yankee Candle, with the latest scents. The time when you watch the Christmas-light-turn-on and are smiling for no apparent reason. The time when you can hear/see the word Christmas written/said around a hundred times a day. The time for snow ball fights and snow angels. The time for Bonfires and Hot-Chocolate. The time when it is socially acceptable to sing in the streets. The time when it is socially acceptable to be drinking at 11 o'clock in the morning (if you're legal.) The time for Home-Baking and warm scents. The time for sparkly nails, deep lips. The time when you have to re-arrange your room to 'keep warm' and 'look cosy'. The time for pink noses and rosy cheeks. The time for fatty foods. The  time for whipped-cream-topped Hot Chocolates. Last but NOT least. The Season To Be Jolly (falalalala-lelalala)

The last few paragraphs were incredibly cheesy, and I don't even care, you can't tell me that the last few paragraphs weren't true. Can you?

Can't think of many more Christmas-Cliches, got anymore? Tell us in the comments? Thanks Hun!
